The following is a list of career resources offered by state and regional agencies. These resources allow parents and students to explore career opportunities and post-high school training and educational options.
Local Resources
Work One Western Indiana - For Putnam County and west central Indiana, this site provides information for job searches, training and education, and a job seekers tool kit. A youth services section provides special information for high school students and young adults. Job seekers can explore job opportunities or post a resume on Indiana Career Connect.
State of Indiana Career & Education Resources
Indiana Career Explorer - This site helps middle and high school students prepare an education plan to prepare for college or a career. Information also provided for college students and adults to help develop a college and career plan. A parents section allows parents to guide their child's education and career planning efforts.
Indiana Career Connect - This Indiana Department of Workforce Development website provides a wide range of career exploration, job search and educational assistance options. The site is designed for use by both students and adults. The "Youth Services" button provides links to explore career, volunteer, education, and military options. Information is also provided to help with financing additional education.
Next Level Jobs Indiana - This website helps individuals explore ways to seek a higher skill level and higher wage jobs by matching existing skill sets, training opportunities and employers. Employers can also use the site to recruit skilled job seekers.
Learn More Indiana - This site provides a wide range of information for K-12 students, college students, and adults about careers, educational requirements, and financing. Links are provided to College Navigator and Indiana College Costs Estimator.
Indiana College Costs Estimator - Students can explore colleges, learn about financial aid resources and the process, and calculate college costs. The estimator was developed by the National Center for College Costs located here in Greencastle.
INTraining - This Indiana Department of Workforce Development website provides a searchable database of training and educational opportunities by program, credentials, and occupation. The site also offers a searchable list of training providers.
Indiana INTERNnet - Indiana INTERNnet is a free internship-matching site managed by the Indiana Chamber of Commerce that links employers, students, high schools and higher education. Employers can post internships and students can locate and apply for internships.
Hoosiers by the Numbers - This Indiana Department of Workforce Development website allows students and adults to research workforce and job data by geography or by topic. A business look-up tool allows users to research businesses by geography, industry, employment size, or by name.
Indiana Career Ready - This site provides the tools needed to prepare for and find high-demand and high-wage jobs needed now and in the future.
Indiana Department of Education - College and Career Pathways - This site provides detailed information for students and parents on the required graduation pathways being implemented across the state.

Dream It - Do It Indiana - This Indiana-specific website is sponsored by Conexus. It offers a variety of Indiana-specific resources focusing on manufacturing and logistics. A news section features articles about manufacturing and logistics in Indiana.
Healthcare Virtual Career Network - This site provides career exploration and training tools to help job seekers prepare for careers in healthcare. Job seekers can explore healthcare careers, identify education and training programs, access online courses, obtain credit for prior learning, and search local healthcare jobs.

Putnam County YMCA
The Y is planned to open in Feb. 2025 and features 59,725 square feet of recreation space including three basketball/sports courts, three exercise studios, a walking track, a fitness area filled with a wide range of exercise equipment, a child watch area, a teen room, and ample support space such as office space, restrooms, family locker rooms, and storage. The gym spaces are set up to accommodate basketball, volleyball, pickleball, and futsal. The Putnam County Hospital space of 11,270 square feet will allow for a wide range of medical offerings for the community.
